Sharon’s love for reading combined with her eye for detail creates a natural talent for copyediting honed through experience. She line-edits each page for grammar, verb tense, sentence structure, spelling and punctuation while making recommendations for rewriting unclear, complex passages or eliminating unnecessary words. All genres of writing are accepted including fiction, nonfiction, short story, essay, technical, or article.
Rates and Guidelines
Proofreading $2.50 per page*
Final proof for minor errors to ensure manuscript is publisher ready. In the event the manuscript contains more than the occasional grammatical error, the manuscript may be returned with no work completed or you may choose the copyediting service.
Copyediting $5.00 per page*
Extensive line-editing for grammatical errors including verb tense, sentence structure, spelling and punctuation. Also includes recommendations as needed for clarity of thought, elimination of unnecessary words, and rephrasing complex or ambiguous passages.
*Page pricing based on standard manuscript form using double-spaced lines at 250 words per page in 12-point serif such as Roman.
One-time sample service available – send up to 5 pages for a one-time flat rate of $10.00 for proofreading or $20.00 for copyediting to determine the benefit of these services.
Submission and Turnaround
Download submission request form and include with manuscript submission via email to sharon@ntlm.org or postal mail to P. O. Box 99, Rosharon, Texas 77583.
General turnaround is 10-14 days or less. Large manuscripts in excess of
50,000 words
may take up to 4 weeks. Once manuscript is received, a receipt of manuscript will be returned via email or postal mail confirming delivery date.
Emailed manuscripts can be edited in Microsoft Word® utilizing the ‘Track Changes’ feature allowing users to view changes in their manuscript while preserving the layout of the manuscript. Some changes are tracked in the text of the document with markup elements while other changes such as inserts and deletions are displayed in balloons that appear in the margin. Postal mailed manuscripts will be edited manually and returned in the return postage paid envelope provided.
